the ‘helpfulness’ of technology

My phone has memorized all of my friend’s names, phone numbers, addresses, and bank account numbers.

Pinterest stores all good ideas.

Google has revolutionized research.

Facebook keeps me posted on all the social goings on.

Goodreads reads my mind and makes book recommendations.

My car tells me where to go!

I officially do not need a brain or a life anymore.  My devices live for me.  Don’t get me wrong.  I don’t want to remember phone numbers.  Come on!  They are 10-digits long now!  And a spot-on goodreads recommendation makes me giggly-happy.

But.  I think things are out of hand.  I’d like a bit of my humanity back.  Could that be arranged?
